About Us

Dog Aid Scotland is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO). Our premises are based in Edinburgh.
We re-home dogs on a home from home basis. We do not have kennel facilities so ask you to look after the dog until a new home can be found. This means your dog will go straight into its new home alleviating the stress and anxiety a lot of dogs suffer when going into kennels. Please check our Dog Re-Homing page for more details..

Our Mission

To find loving new homes for dogs which cannot be maintained in their present homes and which might otherwise be euthanased. To give information on every aspect of dog ownership. To provide Veterinary Aid for those in need. To help reduce the number of unwanted dogs by providing Neutering Vouchers. To encourage responsible dog ownership by providing dog waste disposal bags as part of our Dog Fouling Project.

2025 Calendar Competition

With the success of our 2024 Calendars we are running another photo competition this year to feature your dog in our 2025 Calendar. Would you like your 4 legged friend to feature in the Dog Aid Scotland's 2025 Calendar? Entry fee is £1 per photo. All we ask is that the photos are of a high quality for us to print and ideally landscape rather than portrait. We will need all seasons.
Entries close end of August. If your dog is lucky enough to be chosen you will receive a free copy of the calendar Winners will be chosen by Dog Aid Scotland's staff.

Thank you for supporting the work of Dog Aid Scotland - where dogs come first!

Adopt a dog

Dog Aid Scotland prefer not to re-home dogs to people who are working full time unless the dog has been accustomed to this and is happy with the routine of being left. At any one time there may be a few people applying for the same dog, therefore, we try to re-home the dog to the prospective owner whose circumstances best match the dog’s needs. Please note we only re-home within Scotland.
Our re-homing fees:
Puppy (up to 6 months): £150. Dogs 6 Months - 8 years: £100. Dogs older than 8 years: £50.
